What is trauma therapy?
You might be more familiar with conventional talk therapy — but when you’ve been through trauma, you might need something a little different.
Trauma lives in the body, so its important to get the body involved. At SoCal Wellness Group, we use evidence-based therapy that helps your brain and body process and release the trauma it’s been hanging onto (which basically just means research shows that it works!).
So what does that look like? It might mean rolling out a yoga mat together — breathing and moving the body using yoga-based somatic therapy. Or it could mean using Brainspotting Therapy (BSP), a technique that uses fixed point gazing to tap into the part of your brain where trauma is stored.
