 FAQs

  • Yes! We recommend calling the number on the back of your insurance card to verify your benefits and reimbursement rate. Once you become a client at SoCal Wellness Group, we’ll take care of the rest. We work with a billing company called Thrizer that will automatically submit your superbills after each therapy session. Thrizer speeds up the process of reimbursement and will deposit your reimbursements directly into your bank account!

Feel free to ask more about this on your consultation call and we’ll walk you through the process.

  • We ask that all new clients start therapy on a weekly basis. This helps us build rapport and make good progress towards your goals from the very start. As you make changes and improve, our hope is you won’t need us forever! You and your therapist will decided together when it’s time to reduce the frequency of your therapy sessions.

  • During your consultation call our goal is to get to know you, what you’d like to work on in therapy, and to answer any questions you might have. We’ll chat casually for about 15 minutes and determine which therapist can meet your needs the best. If you’re ready, you’ll have the opportunity to schedule your first therapy session!

  • Yes, your personal health information is protected by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) which means what happens in therapy stays in therapy. That being said, there are a few rare exceptions in which legally we would be mandated to break confidentiality to protect your safety and the safety of others. If there is reasonable suspicion of child or dependent adult abuse, or harm to yourself or others, we are required by law to report this in order to protect your wellbeing and the wellbeing of others. We can talk more about what this might look like in your first session.

  • Unfortunately, no. Our therapists are licensed in California state which means we can only conduct therapy with clients who reside physically in the state of California.

However, as long as you are currently within state lines we can do virtual therapy. For example, if you’re a college student who is from another state but attends school in California, we can work together as long as you’re physically in the state of California. If you move back to your home state, we would have to cease therapy.

  • It varies depending on your preferences! Research shows teletherapy can be just as effective as traditional in-person therapy. If you’re someone who struggles to connect or feel comfortable with new people over the internet, you might prefer to come visit us in-person for therapy at our Tustin office location. Some people who work remotely also prefer this option as it gets you up and out of your environment and creates a separate sacred space for healing. For others who have a busy work or school schedule, virtual teletherapy is a great option! You can schedule therapy conveniently on your lunch break, you can do therapy in your pajamas, or even in the morning before you head off to work. We’d recommend exploring this more on your free consultation call before booking your first session. Our therapists will help find the best option for your unique needs.
